Welcome to my blog! My name is Trista Lerit and I am a wedding photographer based in Orange County, California. Beautiful, Modern, and Edgy Wedding Photography is what I specialize in but every now and then, I love capturing little rascals a.k.a. kids!

This blog is where I'll post pictures from weddings, engagements, and little rascal sessions that I've shot recently. However, I won't limit my posts to photography related things only! This blog also doubles as my online diary where I'll discuss my love of food, share my favorite YouTube videos, post adorable pictures of my dogs (yes, I'm one of THOSE people), and talk about anything else I feel like!

I'd love to hear from all my blog visitors so please don't be shy, my blog doesn't bite ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and come again soon!

Home Update! 03-24-2009

As most of you loyal blog readers know, Doug and I bought our first home late last year and were so excited to start a new chapter in our lives.  Little did we know what a crazy, emotionally draining (as well as bank-account draining) chapter it would be..lol!!  The past few months have been filled with many a trip to Home Depot, Lowes, furniture stores, etc and I finally feel like we're getting somewhere.  We ordered our furniture a couple of months ago and it finally arrived this weekend!

We were soooo excited to see our little gems coming out of the truck and we squealed with delight (okay I squeeled with delight) as each piece made its way into our home.  We have a few more items arriving this weekend which I'll save for my next home post!

Here is a before picture of our living room area when we first got the house in November

This is how it looks now after we painted most of the house a light shade of grey, got our hardwood floors in, and stained the banister to match...I didn't realize how different our house looked until I saw these two pictures side by side!  Crazy!

After I shot Charlene and Kevin's engagement at the Viceroy last year, I fell in love with the white chaise lounge and knew I needed one of my own.  I also think this is when my love affair with Hollywood Regency began...

Doug loved it too so we got one..but in a dark grey velvet...I love the nailhead detail!

Our white mirrored credenza with the chaise..

I *adore* my petite pink couch..it's sitting in our library right now but it's final home will be in my office when it's finally complete.  Can you believe Doug likes it too?  Of course he likes it in a very hairy, burly, manly kind of way ;-)

Our dining set!  Doug and I fell in love with this and we had to have it!  You really have to see it in person to appreciate it but a pic wil have to do..I love the chairs!

The tabletop and sideboards are all covered in smoked mirror..from an angle it all looks shiny black but as you can see from here, you see the smokiness of it.  We're going to switch out the chandelier but with what..we don't know yet?

How cute are these lamps?!  I never thought I'd decorate with yellow and black but these lamps were calling my name when I was just browsing one day!  I was afraid that Doug might not like them but when he got home, but he totally did...I swear..that Doug really knows how to keep me on my toes!

I got these lamps on the same shopping trip.  While I don't adore them as much as the ones above, I still love their style.

Doug and I grabbed this lovely little dresser at the discount corner at the Macy's home store last month.  It's bright aqua color grabbed my attention from across the store and when I saw it up close, I knew I had to have it.  Doug was a bit iffy on it but once it was delivered and in the house, he liked it.  (oh, and the cute little black and white vase I got at a thrift store..who knew?)

Rascal : Julian! 03-16-2009

The last time I had a photoshoot with Julian, he was in his mommy's belly.  He is now almost a year old and is the most adorable thing ever!  The minute he saw me he smiled..what can I say, I'm irresistable! ;-)

Gina contacted me for some family/maternity/rascal shots since she is expecting another little one very soon..if you couldn't already tell :-)  Julian's baby sister is due on his 1st birthday...what are the odds right?

I'll be capturing little Julian's first birthday party next month so stay tuned for some more Julian-cuteness!

How cute is their family?!

Julian looks just like his daddy!

I love this one :-)

So cute!!

How beautiful is Gina?!

I love this shot of Gina and Julian!

Julie and Robert : Engaged! 03-10-2009

I was so delighted when Julie emailed me...she and I went to highschool together (we discovered that after she emailed me).  We had a class together and I remembered having a great time chatting with her and her friends...she was a freshman when I was a junior.  While I won't able to shoot her wedding I was very happy that I could shoot her bridal portraits for her and her fiance Robert.

LOL..Robert has a "thing" about smiling..he doesn't like to do it :-)  So, I tried my very darndest to get him to smile and he just would bust up laughing instead..there is no grey area with him..it's all or nothing baby!  Even without smiles, Robert and Julie make a beautiful couple and looked absolutely beautiful together!

Julie and Robert..thanks so much for having me play a small part in your wedding!  I hope we found a "winner" for your bridal portrait!  Congrat's on your wedding next month!

Now for some favorites!

Julie looked so beautiful!

Robert is smiling with his eyes..can't you tell??!!

Love this..

Oh how I love the next series of shots!

I loved the backlight here...so glorious!

When Julie contacted me, she specifically said she liked all of my "couples under a tree" shots..I hope this one will do Julie!
