Welcome to my blog! My name is Trista Lerit and I am a wedding photographer based in Orange County, California. Beautiful, Modern, and Edgy Wedding Photography is what I specialize in but every now and then, I love capturing little rascals a.k.a. kids!

This blog is where I'll post pictures from weddings, engagements, and little rascal sessions that I've shot recently. However, I won't limit my posts to photography related things only! This blog also doubles as my online diary where I'll discuss my love of food, share my favorite YouTube videos, post adorable pictures of my dogs (yes, I'm one of THOSE people), and talk about anything else I feel like!

I'd love to hear from all my blog visitors so please don't be shy, my blog doesn't bite ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and come again soon!

Orange County Performing Arts Center Wedding : Jane & David 08-10-2009

Being a wedding photographer, I get to see a lot of things..some things I'm meant to see, some things I'm not.  Jane's hotel room was filled with bridemaids getting ready, make-up/hair artists working their magic, and wedding "stuff".  There wasn't a whole lot of room to get a shot of her dress so I worked with what I had..the small hallway outside the bathroom..sounds glamorous right? ;-)  The only place I could get a good shot of her dress was if I was actually standing in the bathroom so I would keep tabs on the door to see when it would be open for me to step in for a quick shot of the dress.

Finally, the door was open so I made a made dash for the door until I go to the door and realized someone was already in there..her back turned away with someone consoling her.  It was Jane's mom who was crying with one of Jane's bridesmaids telling her "you can do this..you can do this!"  It's moments like these where I realize the "big-ness" of a wedding day..I was there to capture the moments..but Jane's mom was there to give her daughter away.  The daughter she watched grow up the past twenty-something years..I couldn't help but tear up just a little at the thought of this.  I immediately thought of the day when I would potentially have a daughter who would one day get married and how I would have to give her away...I seriously don't know how parents do this.  To all the parents out there who may be reading this, I "get" it now :-)  I really do..

With the day starting so beautifully with that touching moment, I couldn't wait to see the day unfold.  It was nothing short of exquisite..Jane & David decided to see each other prior to the ceremony so they could have ample time for pictures.  It was adorable to see...Jane had made her way up to David and was literally standing next to him but David didn't look at her..all of a sudden he asked "Is it okay if I look now??"  We all laughed and said "YES!!"  He turned to her and immediately he was beaming and had the biggest smile on his face.  I was at somewhat of a distance from them to give them their time together when I faintly heard David say "I'm SO happy"...how cute is that!!??  Yup, the day was just getting better :-)

Their ceremony was soooo beautiful..they had several of their friends singing and I must say, everyone deserves record deals if they don't have one already..that's how good they were!  Then the reception..THE RECEPTION!  The flowers, colors, decor, lighting..everything magnificent.  I thought several times that night...DAMN!  Why didn't I use these colors for my wedding...the soft muted tones of pink, ivory, and lavender reminded me of an English garden..I LOVED it!  It totally reminded me of something you would see in Martha Stewart Weddings :-)

Jane & David..thank you so much for allowing me to share in this beautiful occasion with you.  I'm so happy that you're HAPPY!

Trang & Hoang : Engaged in Rhode Island! 08-05-2009

Last week, I packed up my equipment and said goodbye to my furbies and hubby and flew to Providence, Rhode Island for a special shoot.  Trang contacted me months ago to see if I was available to do an engagement session for her and her fiance in Rhode Island where they are both currently living while Hoang attends Brown University.  I was super stoked because I had always wanted to visit Providence ever since the show "Providence".  It was one of my favs back in the day..it aired on Friday nights and I would watch it when I would get ready for work (I bartended back in my college days).

While I really only got to spend a few hours in Providence (sleeping in the hotel after my red-eye flight and right after the shoot don't count, do they?), it was a great few hours :-)  Trang and Hoang were SO incredibly sweet and adorable and I had a ton of fun shooting with them.  I was really scared we would have bad weather since my iphone had said there would be scattered thunderstorms in the area that day!!  While we did get spinkled on and the sky stayed overcast the whole time, it was still beautiful! There is something special about shooting far away from home that I just love :-)

Trang and Hoang..thanks so much for inviting me to your town to capture a little bit of your life there. I loved hearing about how you guys "met" :-)  I wish you so much happiness and a beautiful wedding in Vietnam later this Fall!!

We did a majority of their shoot on Brown's campus..it was the perfect backdrop!

Love this!!

Totally cute :-)

Love the feel of this one..

Trang changed into a traditional vietnamese dress called an "Ao Dai"

Life would be perfection if our neighborhood HOA would let me paint my front door yellow!

Then we did some casual shots in front of the historic building they lived in..love love love historic neighborhoods!

Love this!

Sandy & Adrian : Married & Loving it! 07-31-2009

I first met Sandy & Adrian a couple of years ago when I shot Kaline's (Sandy's sister!) wedding.  I had the pleasure of also shooting their first daughter's rascal session and was excited to now document another big occasion in their life..their 10 year dating anniversary!  Sandy and Adrian are now the parents of two little girls and really wanted some "us" time and have it documented.  They chose Cal Poly Pomona for their location because that's where they met and fell in love...how sweet!

Their love story first began when Sandy was absent from class one day.  Adrian, who happened to be one of the only two cute guys in the class, saved her some classwork that was passed out that day.  When he gave the worksheets to Sandy, she knew that he was interested in her because why else would he go through all that trouble??  Soon enough, they started dating, fell madly in love, got married, and had two gorgeous girls :-)

Sandy & Adrian, thanks so much for being so sweet and awesome!  I loved seeing you guys again..hopefully we'll see each other again soon!!

Now for some favorites!

Love the light here!

Love the light here!

Sandy looks breathtaking here, doesn't she?

What I love about these two is that they couldn't help but have big smiles on their faces every time they would look at each other   :-)  I love that!

Sandy wanted some pictures in her wedding dress...I was happy to oblige :-)
