Welcome to my blog! My name is Trista Lerit and I am a wedding photographer based in Orange County, California. Beautiful, Modern, and Edgy Wedding Photography is what I specialize in but every now and then, I love capturing little rascals a.k.a. kids!

This blog is where I'll post pictures from weddings, engagements, and little rascal sessions that I've shot recently. However, I won't limit my posts to photography related things only! This blog also doubles as my online diary where I'll discuss my love of food, share my favorite YouTube videos, post adorable pictures of my dog (yes,I'm one of THOSE people), and talk about anything else I feel like!

I'd love to hear from all my blog visitors so please don't be shy, my blog doesn't bite ;-)

Thanks for stopping by and come again soon!

NKOTB "Single" 09-02-2008

Wow...I'm ashamed and impressed all at the same time.  I'm ashamed because as excited as I was about NKOTB getting back together, I had some doubts as to whether they were going to be able to pull it off.  After all, they are all in their mid to late 30's so I wondered what sound they could come up with that would be true to themselves but at the same time staying current.  However, after hearing the latest single appropriately titled "Single", I am blown away!  I mean it's not the greatest song of all time but it is definitely a good song!  If you don't believe me, check it out below!

Oh and I must mention that not only is their newest song good, but so is their ENTIRE album!!!  Check it out on itunes!  You will be impressed even if you're not an NKOTB fan :-)  Okay, I'll step of my soapbox now :-)  Countdown: exactly 5 weeks away from seeing the New Kids in concert....YEAH BABY!  I'm even more pumped now!

BTW, don't you just love my customized "YouTube" window in pink? I just learned that you could do that today!

Catalina Island!!! 08-28-2008

So after working 4 weekends in a row, Doug and I thought it would be nice to have a romantic getaway last weekend since it was the only weekend I will have off for the next two months...eeeekkk!!!   I'm embarrassed to say that I have NEVER been to Catalina Island prior to our trip.  How did I live 30 years and not visit Catalina?  I have no idea!  I think it's mainly that I "forget" that it exists..lol!  Every now and then, I'd hear about someone going to Catalina and I'd say "I need to go there one of these days".  But, I end up forgetting and then don't remember it until the next person mentions it.

Anyhoo, I was extremely excited for my very first trip to Catalina.  Since Doug is originally from New York, he had never been either so it was a new adventure that I'm glad we both got to experience together :-)

I still remember how I felt when the boat pulled into the the mini-harbor.  I was AMAZED at what a quaint and cute little island it was!  Well, the island itself is actually large but the tourist area known as Avalon is small enough that everything is within walking distance...aside from the beautiful homes on the top of the hills :-)  Doug and I busted out our GPS and entered the address of our hotel in.  To our surprise, we got there in 5 minutes! It's a quaint little hotel called Hotel St. Lauren and it reminded me of the homes you see in San Francisco!  (okay, of all the times to forget my Point-and-Shoot camera, I forgot it when I went to Catalina....DDOOOHHH!!!  Thank goodness I had my handy iphone to rescue me :-)

img_0085.jpg

Another thing that surprised me was that EVERYONE drove golf carts/mini cars to get around the island!

img_0087.jpg

Some pimped out theirs :-)

img_0086.jpg

and some...not so much...

img_0107.jpg

On our first full day there, Doug and I went on a semi-submarine tour.  When we first got on, the announcer said that we would be able to feed the fish with these "food" torpedos that would launch from the submarine when you hit the button under your window.  She explained that the fish would come swarming toward you and that you would get to see them up close.  However, she then mentioned they charged you for it!!!

Don't get me all excited about launching food-tornado-thingys with my cool little "launch" button and then tell me that I have to pay $20 to do it!!!  So, Doug and I protested because we didn't like this "trick" they pulled.

Funny enough, we didn't even have to buy the food because once the fish saw the submarine, they came swarming toward us anyways since they knew this lovely yellow big thing gaves them food several times a day!  Overall the submarine ride was cool but I got motion sickness and really couldn't wait to get off.  **note, I got motion sickness on the way there, in the submarine, and on the way back so if you plan on visiting, make sure you take Dramamine!

img_0097.jpg

The next day, we rented a golf cart and drove all around town and then went on the little tour that the golf-cart company mapped out for us.  It was my FAVORITE part of the trip (aside from sleeping in) :-)

Here is the view from atop one of the hills.  I was afraid the golf cart wouldn't make it up there but to my surprise, it did!

img_0108.jpg

Our attempt to get a picture of us with the lovely background...lol!

img_0110.jpg

We gave up and decided to each take picture with the scenery...man...I need to get a haircut!

img_0113.jpg

And there you have it!  I really did love our trip to Catalina and would highly recommend visiting if you haven't already done so!!!

Totally and completely off subject, but very worth mentioning!!!

If you have not tried the Magic Eraser from Mr. Clean yet, go out right now and buy yourself one!  I've had this little sucker underneath my sink forever now (because I forgot I had it) and decided to bust it out the other day and see what it could do.

mr-clean-magic-erasers.jpg

I was absolutely AMAZED at the results...it REALLY IS MAGIC!!!  It removed dirt and grime from the front entry of our apartment tiles that were there BEFORE we moved in!  Every time I would try to wipe that area clean, it would never work and I just assumed the stains were permanent.  I thought I'd give the Magic Eraser a try not expecting anything to happen BUT with a few quick wipes the stains disappeared!  I wish I could have videotaped it because it was truly an amazing site.  You have to just trust me on this one and GO GET ONE NOW!  You will thank me..I guarantee it :-)  And no...Mr. Clean did not pay me to say that :-)

Hope everyone has a fabulous holiday weekend!  I'll be shooting Erin and Chris' awesome wedding tomorrow and can't wait to share the images with everyone next week!

Kylie and Matt : Married! 08-20-2008

Kylie and Matt got married last weekend at the gorgeous Occasions at Laguna Village in Laguna Beach.  I have been looking forward to their wedding for a long time now since Kylie and I go way back.  We went to highschool together..Kylie's sister and I were in the same grade and Kylie was younger than us.  While Kylie and I didn't really know each other back then, I do remember seeing her around campus just a petite little thing with braces :-)  It is so wonderful to see her all grown up now, beautiful as ever, and happy to be married to the man of her dreams...whom she met at a club :-)

LOL..that was the big joke at their wedding..Kylie's sister Kim had said during her speech that when Kylie first told her about Matt and how they met at a club, she gave the relationship just a couple of months to last.  But she decided to just support Kylie and waited to see what happened.  To everyone's surprise, Kylie and Matt made it and proved to everyone that their relationship was the real deal.  I must say that I've never been one to support meeting your future spouse at a club but Kylie and Matt have proved to be an exception and I've completely changed my mind about finding love in da club ;-) hehehe

Kylie and Matt, I had SO much fun at your wedding and I am honored to have been a part of it.  Thanks so much for being so kind to me!  Have fun in Italy!

How HOT are Kylie's shoes?  Kylie works for Prada so OF COURSE she had to wear them for her wedding ;-) I love it when my brides wear "un-bridaly" shoes!

Kylie's makeup artist Jean did a fabulous job.  If you'd like her phone number, email me!

Kylie and Matt make such a beautiful couple!  Initially, I told Matt that I thought he looked like Derek Jeter.  But after taking a closer look, I think he also has a bit of Tony Romo in him..what do you all think?   Either way....Matt is OBVIOUSLY ten times better looking than the both of them ;-)

I just LOVE this portrait of Kylie...gorgeous!

June and Singer : Married on 08.08.08! 08-13-2008

Phew!  I've been so busy chugging away with work that I didn't realize that I've been lagging on blogging!  Sorry about that!  Wedding season is in full swing and my commitment to getting my clients their pictures and albums in a timely manner has made me a blog slacker ;-)  However, the good news is that for the next couple of months there will be a wedding blogged every week!

This week in particular, I get to blog June and Singer's wedding that took place on the oh-so-popular date 08-08-08!  I have been looking forward to this wedding ever since June first booked me!  June and I hit it off right from the start and I was so excited to hear about all the little plans she had in store.  I was SO excited to know that I would be shooting at the Turnip Rose (Grand Newport Plaza) which happens to be one of the most gorgeous venue's in Orange County.  The architecture there is just gorgeous and I'm so happy I finally got to shoot there!

As you'll see, June and Singer left no detail-stone unturned...the flowers and decor were gorgeous, the ceremony filled with emotion and spirit, and the reception filled with fun and laughter.

June and Singer, thanks so much for being such awesome clients!  I'm so excited for you and wish you all the best!  Hope you're having fun in Tahiti!  Soooo jealous!!!

June and Singer risked their LIVES for this shot!  This was on the second story and there was nothing to "catch" them if they fell!  When they got up there I yelled "This looks scary..maybe you guys shouldn't do this" and June said "No!  We'll do it!  Such troopers those two!
